Job Functions

Fmcg (Fast Moving Consumer Goods Sector)

The purpose is to monitor DC execution against the load plan, as well as allocate resources for any
immediate requirements, to meet the execution and communication expectations of both the
Customer and Company, within a structured planning framework in the distribution

    • Key Accountabilities and Outputs

    • Enhanced Customer Service

    • Monitor the execution of the Load Plan to ensure effective & customer service orientated. Daily Load Plans are delivered. Planned ETA’s Communication Managed & Customer. Database updates managed.
    • Monitors DC KPI’s ie. Truck Start Up Times, Route Adherence Managed and adjust plan
    • accordingly
    • Reconciliation of trip documentation.
    • Monitoring and reconciliation of fuel transactions and consumption.
    • Driver KPI’s and Short Cycle Feedback managed Monitor and communicate progress of complete load plan made up of pre- planned loads and ‘Today- loads” delivery On-going communication and supervision of DC operations & Live- tracking software, for the monitoring of planned implementation Load plan execution.
    • Monitor execution of load plan.
    • Monitoring of live fuel transactions.
    • Compilation of fuel transaction report and fuel consumption by vehicle.
    • Compilation of driver time reports.
    • Communication between drivers and customers.
    • Facilitation of vehicle services and maintenance.
    • Vehicle trip queries with the use of Tracking Solution.
    • Manage and ensure Driver route adherence to Load Plan.
    • Expedite the Load Plan and ensure that Customers and Sales are communicated with
    • when delays occur.
    • Stakeholder engagement

    • Maintain open communication channels with Sales, Debtors, Manufacturing and Telesales
    • Engage with Transporter and external transport providers to ensure vehicle availability
    • Ensure integration with relevant internal stakeholders to leverage appropriate
    • relationships

    • Safety, Health and Environment

    • Ensure adherence to site safety standards and critical member of Safety, Health and
    • Environmental Committee in line with the OSH Act.
    • Ensure the safe operation of vehicles in accordance with the Road Traffic Act within and
    • outside of the Distribution Centre.
    • Ensure compliance to all relevant legislation and support a safe environment for The
    • Beverage Company’s Employees, Contractors and Visitors.

    • Qualifications and Experience

    • Bachelors Degree (3 years) / NQF level 7 (Essential)
    • Upto 2 years experience (Operational Execution) FMCG; Distribution Planning
    • MS Excel; MS Word; SAP; E Mail; MS PowerPoint
